The soil at New Market Heights, The Breakthrough and Fort Blakeley witnessed some of the most significant—and some of the largest—attacks of the Civil War. Through our latest project, we have the incredible opportunity to preserve over 130 acres of hallowed ground across these three battlegrounds. Without immediate action by the American Battlefield Trust, and supporters like you, these historic battlegrounds will be irretrievably marred by development and sprawl.
