Park Day @ Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead

Upcoming Event
Saturday, April 26, 2025 @ 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT

Ridley Creek State Park
3900 North Sandy Flash Drive
Newtown Square, PA 19073

Meeting place
Volunteers will meet in the parking lot outside the main visitor entrance to Colonial Farmstead at 10 AM. The site will open to the public at 11 AM and volunteers arriving after 11 AM may enter through the Visitor Center.
Planned Activities
Volunteers will assist with cleaning alongside the creekbank, clearing brush from visitor areas, repairing fence lines, moving and stacking wood piles, cleaning trash from the picnic table area, and assisting in the garden.
History or Educational Activities
Colonial Farmstead is an 18th century living history farm that showcases agricultural and domestic skills during a rapidly changing colonial America. We welcome volunteers to visit the interpretive activities happening throughout the day that can range from hearth cooking and weaving to blacksmithing. The 112 acre farm includes a historic farmhouse and outbuildings, crop fields and garden, and heritage breed animals.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
We encourage volunteers to wear clothing comfortable for outdoor work and bring work gloves.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be moved to May 3, 2025.
Please note
Due to the site's location within Ridley Creek State Park, we encourage volunteers not familiar with CPF or the park to review driving directions ahead of time as the GPS location is not always accurate on some map services. Please call the office at 610-566-1725 with any questions prior to April 26.
