Shepherdstown Battlefield
Boteler's (or Blackford's) Ford is located on the Potomac River about one mile east of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Historic markers and tablets along River Road mark the site of the river crossing and the ruins of an old mill are still visible. Elmwood Cemetery, on the outskirts of town, has a Confederate section with 252 dead, many from the Maryland Campaign.
