Laurel Hill was the birthplace and boyhood home of Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart, C.S.A. He was one of the most celebrated cavalrymen of the Confederacy. His units served as the eyes and ears of Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia.
