Garry Adelman, Sam Smith, & Wayne Motts

Garry Adelman is the author, co-author or editor of more than thirty books and articles concerning the Civil War. He is the vice president of the Center for Civil War Photography and has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg for 16 years. He works full time as director of History and Education at the Civil War Trust. 

A native of Nashville, Tenn., and a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Sam Smith worked with the Civil War Trust’s K-12 educational programs. An award-winning board game designer, Smith has also written or co-written more than 50 articles on Civil War subjects, and is a frequent lecturer at the National Museum for American Jewish Military History.

Wayne E. Motts is the chief executive officer of the National Civil War Museum, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He has been a licensed battlefield guide at the Gettysburg National Park for twenty-seven years and is the co-author (with James Hessler) of the soon to be released Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg: A Guide to the Most Famous Attack in American History.
