We will meet at the Park Office at 9:30am
Planned Activities
After meeting at the park office at 9:30am, we will leave for the battlefield at about 9:45am for a free ranger led tour which should last from 45min to 1 hour and conclude in the Memorial Grounds. After the conclusion of the tour, we will head back to the battlefield where we will do some or all of the following:

Stain fencing, remove and/or install split rail fences, clear under brush, remove limbs and debris, trim/weed eat the earthworks, and clean waysides.
History or Educational Activities
FREE Battlefield Tour. We will see the original confederate earthworks as we explore the battlefield which was the only spot in South Carolina in which Confederate forces successfully halted the advance of General Sherman's entire army... at least for a day or so.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Wear working clothes that can get dirty, bring water, gloves, eye protection, ear protection, enclosed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, and a trimmer or weed eater if comfortable doing so. Although a lunch of hotdogs and hamburgers is provided, you may wish to bring your own food.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will continue as planned.

A free lunch of hotdogs & Hamburgers will be provided for all volunteers!

The event will continue regardless of weather, unless conditions become unsafe (high wind, lightening, hail, etc.)
