Planned Activities
Join Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site staff for Park Day 2025! Volunteers are needed to help with picking up trash, raking leaves, and collecting sticks and branches to support our historic cooking demonstrations and to improve the park's landscape for staff and visitor safety. Hopewell Furnace is a unit of the National Park Service and preserves and interprets early American iron manufacturing in a 19th century community setting.
History or Educational Activities
Interpretation staff will be leading volunteers during the service project, so questions are welcome as we walk through the historic structures to reach our locations of interest!
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Please bring a pair of gloves, sunscreen, and a hat. Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes, long sleeved shirts and pants, bug spray, and plenty of water.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be cancelled.
