Meeting place
We will be meeting at 7792 Lowcountry Dr, Ridgeland, SC 29936, the site of Daniel Heywards “Old House Plantation.” This site also is the location of the Heyward Family Cemetery, the final resting place of Thomas Heyward, Jr, signer of the Declaration of Independance.
Planned Activities
We will be doing a general cleanup of the site, picking up dead tree branches, raking, cleaning cemetery headstones, trimming shrubs, planting flowers.
History or Educational Activities
The Jasper County 250 Community will be providing site tours and discussions around the life of Daniel Heyward and his son, Thomas Heyward, Jr., signer of the Declaration of Independance.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Please bring gloves, rakes, leaf blowers, garden shovels, loppers, and general yard work tools.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be cancelled.

Please dress accordingly, this site sits on the marshlands of the Euhaw Creek. Bug spray might be needed. Lunch and drinks will be provided.
