The Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust are excited to feature the American Revolution Experience at the Lancaster County Historic Courthouse from January 11 - January 27, 2025.

The innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. 

Exhibit Hours:

  • Saturday: 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Closed Saturday, Jan 18)
  • Monday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan 16: 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan 23: 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Closed Friday, Jan 17)

Saturday, January 11

  • 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m: Liberty Live Education Events
    Step into the role of an 18th-century physician to learn more about period medicine and the fight against one of history's deadliest diseases. Then, dive into the ballistics program, where you can interact with a real cannon and musket (weather permitting) and even test your aim with your own 'hand cannon' at a target. Don't miss this unique opportunity. Registration for this FREE event is required.
  • Eliza Lucas Pinckney Dresses with Laura Thompson - TBD
    Explore Eliza’s dresses with award-winning designer Laura Thompson. Enjoy light colonial refreshments. This event has been postponed until TBD. Please check back.

  • The Bloody Summer of 1780
    Durant Ashmore explores the SC Backcountry’s role in the Revolutionary War

Saturday, January 18 - 10:00 a.m.

  • Lancaster County American Revolution Tour
    Guided by Durant Ashmore, visit local historical sites from the Revolution.

Tuesday, January 21 - 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

  • Living History Presentations
    The American Revolution Experience Exhibit and the Lancaster County Museum will be open on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., with Living History presentations from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 25 - 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • Genealogical Workshop
    Held at the Native American Studies Center, for this hands-on workshop will include using Family Search, researching American Revolution Patriot service, and documenting your lineage. A $10 registration fee is required ($10). Register now!

    Due to travel and weather considerations, Rick Wise's discussion on the Francis Marion Papers has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. Join Rick on a deep dive into the legacy of the Swamp Fox and his contributions to the Revolution.
