Natural Resources Secretary Molly Ward to Join Anheuser-Busch and Civil War Trust for Williamsburg Event

(Williamsburg, Va.) - On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, Anheuser-Busch and the Civil War Trust will join Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources Molly Ward and other state leaders in historic Williamsburg for an exciting battlefield preservation announcement. The event will mark the latest efforts to protect hallowed ground associated with the Civil War Battle of Williamsburg, fought May 5, 1862.

The news conference will be held at Kingsmill Resort beginning at 10 a.m. Joining Secretary Ward for the event will be Rick Shippey of Anheuser-Busch and Civil War Trust President James Lighthizer, along with representatives from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Virginia State Parks, and the Department of Historic Resources. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has also been invited to attend.

Following the news conference, there will be a press availability with state leaders. Historians will also be available to discuss the history of this pivotal battle, the first clash of the 1862 Peninsula Campaign against the Confederate capital at Richmond. Light breakfast and refreshments will be provided.
