Byram's Ford Battlefield

Located in the Byram's Ford Historic District of Kansas City, Missouri, the Byram's Ford Battlefield is in a light industrial area but has been preserved by Big Blue Battlefield Park green space. Some of the original entrenchments are still visible.  A self-guided walking tour with numerous monuments and markers is available from the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department. A large Confederate monument in Forest Hill Cemetery is surrounded by graves of the Confederate dead, including Brig. Gen. Joseph Shelby's.

Preservation

The American Battlefield Trust and our members have saved more than 39 acres at Byram's Ford Battlefield.
