Fort McAllister Battlefield

Located on the south bank of the Ogeechee River, Fort McAllister State Historic Park is the home of the most well-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. Visitors can explore the grounds and see heavy artillery pieces, a hot shot furnace, bombproof barracks, palisades and more. A Civil War museum contains artifacts, a video of the battle and a gift shop.
