Okolona Battlefield
The cavalry Battle of Okolona culminated in the action at Ivey's Hill, about 10 miles north of Okolona on the Pontotoc Road (Mississippi Route 41). Several Union soldiers are buried there. A number of houses and public buildings in Okolona were used as temporary hospitals. A Confederate monument is in the center of downtown and a Confederate cemetery with an interpretive marker is on Park Lane Drive.
