The 374ft. painting, depicting the Battle of Atlanta is one of the few remaining, complete cycloramas. A cyclorama is a specially designed painting, mounted floor to ceiling around a circular room with objects displayed in front of it in a diorama setting. The cycloramas served as a way to engage the public and allow the viewer to feel as though they are in the moment.
