This cemetery contains graves of soldiers mortally wounded in the Battle of Raymond, fought May 12, 1863. The soldiers are mostly from the Third Tennessee and the Seventh Texas infantries. In 1985, a total of 109 Confederate dead were identified; the remaining graves hold unknown soldiers.
