Roadside exhibits interpret the 1864 Battle of Ditch Bayou, in which a small Confederate force under Col. Colton Greene inflicted heavy casualties on a much larger Union formation commanded by Gen. A.J. Smith. This was the largest battle in Chicot County and the last significant battle on Arkansas soil. It is part of a driving tour of Civil War sites along Lake Chicot. Brochures are available at Lake Chicot State Park.
