The museum interprets the history and material culture of Manassas and the northern Virginia Piedmont region. Exhibits depict early settlement and plantation life, the building of the railroad junction, the Battles of First and Second Manassas, and the region's post-Civil War reconstruction. The museum system also includes a restored earthwork fortification built by General Beauregard as part of his defense of Manassas Junction.
