The Historic Overton home (c. 1799), was used as Confederate Army of Tennessee headquarters for two weeks prior to the 1864 Battle of Nashville. During the battle the house was damaged by artillery fire at Peach Orchard Hill. Important artifacts include an autograph book signed before the battle by 8 Confederate generals, including Hood, Forrest, Stewart, Cheatham, and Lee.
