United States
The oldest commissioned ship in the United States, the USS Constitution was launched on October 1797. After having seen fighting in the Quasi-War with France and engagements against pirates in the Mediterranean, the ship would once again be used during the War of 1812. During the war, the USS Constitution defeated four British warships and earned its nickname "Old Ironsides" because of the seemingly impenetrable sides.
