This set of two lesson plans focuses on particular events or battles from the War of 1812, emphasizing primary sources and the experiences of soldiers and civilians. Explore the Chesapeake Campaign (including the Burning of Washington and the Bombardment of Fort McHenry) and the Battle of New Orleans—all significant moments during the War of 1812 which was fought between 1812-1815.
The worksheets and activities in each lesson in the Perspectives Module are intentionally similar, allowing students to explore the primary sources in greater depth.
