The Southern Museum of the Civil War and Locomotive History, a Smithsonian Institution affiliate, allows visitors to glimpse the daily lives of soldiers during the Civil War, relive the excitement of the Great Locomotive Chase, see the stolen locomotive and the General, and examine the role railroads played during the war. The Museum also houses a replica of a post-war locomotive factory.
