Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, which has been serving the community for more than 150 years, encompasses a total of 733 acres. It is known worldwide for its beautiful landscaping and unique "lawn plan." Preserved within this "museum without walls" are exquisite illustrations of art, statuary, and architecture. Among its notable burials are 999 Civil War soldiers, 40 of whom are generals, including Gen. Robert McCook of the "Fighting McCooks" and Gen. Joseph Hooker.
